Below is a summary of a few recent NLP news items and upcoming events scheduled for across the country.
APRIL 9 • HAGELIN’S KOSOVO SOLUTION
In a press conference at the National Press Club in Washington, D.C., Dr. John Hagelin offers an immediate resolution to the Kosovo crisis through a scientifically verified peace-creating program that could be implemented within 48 hours.
APRIL 30 • LOS ANGELES FORUM
Dr. Hagelin and bestselling author Neale Donald Walsch (Conversations with God 1, 2, 3) speak at a joint forum in Los Angeles attended by over 450 people. Together they generate a huge wave of support for the Natural Law Party’s programs.
MAY 6 • ROSEANNE TV SHOW
Dr. Hagelin appears on the nationally televised Roseanne show, where he discusses his program to end violence and the Kosovo crisis.
MAY 12 • HAGELIN’S PRESIDENTIAL LAUNCH
Dr. Hagelin officially inaugurates his campaign for U.S. president for the year 2000. Speaking in Washington, D.C., at the historic Hay-Adams Hotel before Natural Law Party national committee members and representatives from the Washington Post, USA-Today, CNN, and C-SPAN, Dr. Hagelin pledges to run the “largest, most successful third-party campaign in U.S. political history,” with 2000 Natural Law Party candidates on the ballot in all 50 states.
MAY 28 • DETROIT FORUM
Bestselling author Marianne Williamson (The Healing of America), bestselling author Neale Donald Walsch (Conversations with God 1,2,3), and Dr. Hagelin present a joint forum in Detroit entitled “An Evening of Personal Transformation and Political Renewal.” Over 200 people attend the event, raising funds to support ballot access activities in Michigan and surrounding states.
JUNE 2 • GENETIC ENGINEERING CONFERENCE
Dr. Hagelin and Laura Ticciati, founder of Mothers for Natural Law, join other nationally prominent featured speakers at a San Francisco conference on the hazards of genetic engineering. Nearly 200 people, including scientists, physicians, clergy, educators, farmers, and food industry leaders, attend the day-long seminar to support the safeguarding of our food supply.
JUNE 3 • U.S. CONGRESSIONAL PREVENTION COALITION
More than 80 attendees representing Members of Congress and their staff attend a Congressional Prevention Coalition forum led by Dr. Hagelin and featuring the U.S. Surgeon General and other guest speakers from the medical community. The forum, cosponsored by the Institute for Science, Technology and Public Policy and entitled “Achieving Parity in Health Care for Minority Populations: Prevention of Hypertension and Heart Disease,” discusses the effectiveness of preventive health programs advocated by the Natural Law Party.
JUNE 9 • HAGELIN BIRTHDAY
Dr. Hagelin celebrates his 45th birthday in his home town of Fairfield, Iowa. Addressing an enthusiastic group of 350 supporters, he dedicates himself to promoting long overdue political renewal in America through prevention-oriented, natural law-based government.
JUNE 17 • GE SUMMIT
Dr. Hagelin and Laura Ticciati and leaders from the scientific community present to U.S. government representatives over 500,000 signatures from American citizens demanding mandatory labeling of all genetically engineered foods.
JUNE 20 • WASHINGTON FORUM
Neale Donald Walsch and Dr. Hagelin hold a joint forum at the Omni Shoreham Hotel in Washington, D.C.
JUNE 25 • BAY AREA FORUM
