Ed Malloy Wins Mayoral Race In Fairfield, Iowa

Ed Malloy, state chair of the Natural Law Party of Iowa, won the office of Mayor of Fairfield, Iowa, on Tuesday with 51.8% of the votes in a closely contested election. He will serve as mayor for two years. We send our deepest congratulations to Ed and wish him the greatest success in his new role as Mayor of Fairfield.

"I see tremendous possibilities for our city if we pull together all of the talent and resources we have in business, the arts, volunteer organizations, and our young people," Ed said during his campaign. "We can make our city a model for 21st century living."

Ed's campaign platform included

  • Strengthening the economy of Fairfield
  • Revitalizing the Town Square and making Fairfield a destination community for regional and national tourism
  • Long-range strategic planning involving the whole community
  • Establishing a commission for city beautification and conservation
  • Creating a youth activities board to work with schools, youth associations, and service organizations

Ed is a member of the Iowa 2010 Strategic Planning Council (appointed by the Governor), President of Danaher Oil, and a Fairfield citizen for 21 years. He and his wife Vicki have been married for 19 years and have two children.

Ed is also state chair of the Natural Law Party of Iowa (since 1994), a member of the national executive committee of the Natural Law Party of the USA (since 1992), former co-chair of the Natural Law Party of the USA (1993), and former long-term member of the Fairfield City Council (1991-1999).
