(1) HAGELIN ON "NIGHTLINE" NEXT MONDAY

On Monday, October 30, on ABC-TV's nationally acclaimed "Nightline," Ted Koppel will interview presidential candidates John Hagelin, Harry Browne, and Howard Phillips in a round-table discussion of Election 2000 issues.

Broadcast times for "Nightline" vary in different time zones and are usually later on Mondays due to Monday night football. The following is an excerpt from an interview with Minnesota Governor Jesse Ventura in Newsweek Online last week.

NEWSWEEK: You might vote for one of the third party candidates?

VENTURA: Oh, absolutely. Chances are I will because I'm a believer in the third party movement. NEWSWEEK: You're probably not going to vote for Buchanan? VENTURA: No. NEWSWEEK: So that means Nader? VENTURA: It leaves Hagelin. In fact we sponsored a debate in Minnesota that disturbed me, because my Independence Party sponsored the first presidential debate, and I was very disappointed that Nader and Buchanan chose not to attend. Here they are, crying out they want to debate; it was covered live on C-SPAN, which, granted, that's not the networks, but it still covers the country, and you'd think that they would want to get out as much as they possibly could. What disappointed me about Nader was, I met with him and had a press conference with him, and that was his very message: that Americans need to sponsor their own debates, so that they can get a fast field of candidates. We do it in Minnesota, and he chooses not to come. And it was an interesting debate. They brought up subjects that I think need to be brought up, and these other guys aren't going to touch them with a 10-foot pole.

(4) HAGELIN ON PUBLIC ACCESS TV IN ORANGE COUNTY, CA

The John Hagelin videotape produced by David Lynch will air on Channel 17 (Adelphia Communications, Orange County, CA) every Monday through Thursday for the next four weeks at 5:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. Pacific time. Channel 17 serves Brea, La Habra, and La Habra Heights.
